Starting Gate at GreatHorse Wedding…

Allyson + Roland were married on a beautiful summer day at the Starting Gate at GreatHorse in Hampden. While a downpour right as the ceremony was about to begin put a temporary damper on the festivities, the rain was short lived and they were able to resume right where they left off.

I first met Allyson + Roland during their adventurous engagement session in the Berkshires where we walked and made some fun photos in the woods. Now it was time for their wedding day.

Allyson and her bridesmaids got ready in the Starting Gate’s bridal suite while Roland and his groomsmen did the same at a hotel in Enfield. After the guys arrived at the venue, Allyson + Roland had their first look at the gazebo where their ceremony would soon be held. We took the opportunity to make family portraits before the ceremony, then headed off to the waterfall on the GreatHorse grounds for portraits of just the two of them.

Then it was time for the ceremony. Once the rain had stopped and the seats were dried off, guests filed in for a beautiful ceremony with storm clouds receding into the background. Once Allyson + Roland were married we hopped into golf carts and went off to a picturesque bridge for more portraits.

Once back at the Starting Gate Allyson + Roland had their first dance. This was followed by toasts and a blessing by the minister who married them, and then dinner.

As the sun was setting we walked out to the ceremony site and gazebo and made a handful of sunset portraits. Then they cut their cake, danced with their parents, and the reception got underway with dancing and fun until it was time to call it a night.
